You can now write in Swift in a wider range of popular integrated development environments, including Cursor, VSCodium, Kiro from AWS and Antigravity from Google. Compatible with VS Code extensions, these editors connect directly to the Open VSX registry, where official now available Swift extension.
Swift has long supported development using multiple integrated development environments, including VS Code, Xcode, Neovim and Emacs. Swift is also compatible with editors that support the Language Server Protocol (LSP). This growing ecosystem of editor support is especially important as Swift continues to demonstrate its versatility across platforms and development environments, including agent-based IDEs.
